Behavior at Work Collaborative Conducting Salons

What is a Salon?

Salons are gatherings where people engage in conversation that amuses, challenges, amazes and inspires.  Most importantly, salons are gatherings where each participant forms and informs the conversation; unlike formal meetings, such as conferences or workshops, salons are opportunities for people to casually connect and share their experiences.

Salons are commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries but have been carried on in various urban settings as recently as the 1940s.
